The reason for an amendment being extremely difficult to be added to the American Constitution is the obtainment of majority support from the members of the U.S. Congress. This support had been extremely important to make the general public/citizens of America be convinced about the justification of the amended aspects in the Constitution. Two-thirds is the percentage of majority support required mandatorily from all the existing houses of the Congress. Therefore, it can be difficult to convince several members of the existing houses. There can be diversified personalities and perspectives of the active/existing members of the existing houses leading to conflicting behaviors while considering new amendments in the Constitution.
